Inspired by Growl's famous notifications plugin, Twitter Bootstrap Notifications can show small message in any corner of the page, with any kind of CSS styling applied to it.

By default some notification levels are hard-coded in (like error, success, warning, etc.) but new ones can be added with ease.

A demo is included with the download package.
